Great news! I decided to put the duck eggs into lockdown a day early because another BYCer recommended it. I candled before closing up and found 3 internal pips! I could also see 2 others pushing against the membrane to get into the air cell! Unfortunately, the last one looks like it died several days ago, but 5 out of 6 is awesome, especially after my bad chick hatch! I've been told they can take up to 48 hours to hatch out. It's going to be hard not to sit next to the incubator and watch!

As you know I have chicks due to hatch on March 8th. There will be NO room in the brooder for them unless I move the others out. By the time they get here 12 of the chicks will be a month old and the other 6 will be 2ish weeks old. Can I move then outside to a tractor at those ages, as long as they have a lamp, still?
Yes, you canLast summer It was very hot outside so we put some 2 week olds outside without a light and they did great! So as long as they have the light they should do fine as long as it's not snowing or below freezing.![]()
