Nah... it's a girl for sure.![]()
How adorable. I can't wait for my Silkies & Blue Cochins to hatch!
Layna, how is your "girl chick" with the big comb doing? She isn't crowing yet is she??Sorry, I couldn't resist and I'm hoping she's a SHE! I would agree with everyone else. If the comb turns pinkish/red by a couple of months old it is most likely a rooster. Regarding the comb size -that veries from breed to breed. I don't have a leghorn, but here is a picture of my RIR pullet with not much of a comb at 4 months old, a month before she started laying...![]()

AWWWWWWW!
2 Silkie, 7 Cochin & 1 RIR due March 3rd. Then Silkies & Cochins every other day down to March 13th. Total of 6 Silkies. 8 of the total Cochins are pure bred, 2 are mixed w/Light Brahma, 6 a mixed w/a large black hen I hatched from an egg given to me. Don't know it's breed but has sparse feathers on her legs. She was large enough to be in w/Cochins. Hatching begins next Sat!
