I've just set my third clutch of eggs in my Brinsea Eco 20. My huge Blue Orp Roo is getting waaaaaay too big for most of my girls, and I'm working on a new home for him where he can have 'size appropriate' girls of his own. He is so beautiful, though, that I really want to get a blue EE boy out of him. So before he goes, I'm setting eggs from my EE, as well as my SS girls, who have all been running with him. Would love to get a line of blue EE's, if I can. At any rate, it will be fun. I've had hatching fever for too long!

All 3 were cockerels last time. Hopefully, this time I'll get some girls and boys.

Thank you! I am so impatient; I want them NOW!

I just set today too! I am trying out a new incubator. I went a little overboard because I found some cheap eggs - $18 for 90 from a local farmer! About 1/3 of them are Easter Egger too, nice blue and green eggs. The rest are a mix of comets, silkies and mutts. I thought it would be best to try out just some regular ol' eggs before I ordered $3-an-egg batches online! I'm still very excited, though. Hatchings are the best! Now if I can just get the temp up on this incubator ... It hasn't gotten up over 97 yet. -_-

Have you considered Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas? In appearance they're similar looking to what you're trying to achieve.

I set mine tonight too. 26 bantam Ameracaunas & 12 "store" eggs from a free range pastured flock that has both hens and roos -- Pot luck!

Yes, the 'store eggs' have been in the fridge but the 'Pack date' was just 2 days ago and they cost me $2.15, so the price was right. I also put in the 2 LF mutt eggs a friend's girls gifted her with today. I popped them in the bator with the B-Ams [that ave been resting for 39 hours and turned on the bator! I will turn on the turner tomorrow evening I figure the store eggs were shipped to. so a 24 hour rest won't hurt them! Am joining the "Store EGG Club"

Hatch day Feb 25. Doing most of my updating and posting in the 'February Hatch-Alon, Come Join In' thread as I also have 17 B-Welsummers due on the 12th.

Yea, but I couldn't find any. If I don't get what I want from this hatch, I'll probably try again for some Ameraucana eggs.
