Setting for the @ coding

When I joined BYC, was still on dial up speed so I had every options turned off- avatar, sigs etc as those really bogged down download time.

Have broadband now.. but apparently there is a new code for tagging people using the "@" I'm guessing it notifies the tagged user, right? Tried going through settings/preferences to allow for it but so far no luck.. how do I find and turn it on?

It should work by default... just type @ and then start typing the name, like @Kev

Ah I meant to clarify I'm the one not getting the notifications. I didn't get anything for your message up there?

Do you have your email notifications turned on? It notifies you by email when someone (@) mentions you.

You can change your notifications and email settings by going to your ~

> Profile page
> Edit account settings

Ah, yes that would answer the question- email notifications had been set to off.

Once you have your email notifications back on you can check the boxes you want to receive them for. "Notify me when someone mentions me" is one of them.

I had assumed it was probably via onsite PM so I'd simply never checked the email option...
