Setting my first ever eggs on Aug 27, is anyone else?

I put hardware cloth in and try the bandage trick, it's easier said than done. The chicks have feather on their legs makes it harder. I have tried on 3 of them and they still can't walk. My incubator keeps temp very good but I put it outdoor so the temperature difference can cause that problem. At night, it could not go pass 95, during the day, the side facing the sun can be 102 or 103. Next hatch, I will try indoor. I opened up the eggs and they were not shrink wrapped. They were drowned. My hatcher's humidity was at 55-60 average.

I started with 180 eggs and I think some of them has been refrigerated. I got about 117 fertile eggs. 18 of them quit and 99 went into lockdown. After 5 days in hatcher, 72 hatched, about 5 pipped but drowned. My humidity was 55-60 in average but sometimes around 68-70. The rest were drowned in shell without pipping. I think hatched chicks playing soccer with the unhatched eggs causing some DIS. There could be other reasons like nutrition... Next hatch, I will try to secure my eggs so they won't turn when chicks hatched. I also try to make an escape place for hatched chicks. Will try to lower humidity to 60 max. I also have splayed legs chicks that won't survive. My fault. I will try to prepare better floor for the brooder next time. Thanks.

This is the dark little NN, hopefully a boy, he has already earned his name Jaxom, any Anne McCaffery fans will recognize that name. He may be the wrong color for Jaxom, but he needed extra help hatching and his first day was sketchy whether he would make it or not.


The light NN, hope she is a girl, this pic says it all, it is her personality she came to rule the world, seriously. lol
