Okay I've been looking at candling pics till my eyes have crossed then went and candled my eggs, even though it isn't day 10. I don't think I saw anything like in the pictures, but I don't know if I am just not knowing what I am seeing or if my light isn't bright enough to see the veins. Some I'm fairly sure are blood rings and some I'm fairly sure are clear (just not sure enough to take them out of the bator.) A couple of the darkest NN eggs I can't see into at all. I see very little veining some cases none at all I see roughly 1/2 the egg is clear (bottom half) and top half is dark, I don't see movement like an ultra sound the only movement I see is liquid movement. (best way I could describe it would be like if you had a closed container w/ dark oil and water that kind of movement). Nothing smells bad. I don't want to mess w/ the eggs again today, but Frid (I work all day Thurs) I am going to try and take some pics of what I am seeing, but I think my hatch is in serious trouble.
What do you use to candle and how dark is the room, I candle with a micro flashlight the 9 Led kind in a pitch black room and first I start at the top of the egg then I go around the egg just searching for something
As soon as Gary gets back w/ fresh batteries I will start candling the eggs. I will take pics this time w/ a tripod. I don't have a good feeling though.
Eggs are candled the carnage was bad, but not a total loss like I was expecting. I started w/ 30 eggs now I'm down to 12, of the 12 there are about 4 I gave the benefit of the doubt and let stay. The ones I am most wanting are the houdan and NN. I started w/ mostly NN and lost all but 5, 4 I saw moving for sure. I only have 1 araucana left and saw it move, the houdans I was most suprised about I started w/ 7 and only lost one that I was willing to admit was totally dead, I gave 3 the benefit of a doubt and even though I suspected they were likely not viable I let them stay, and saw 3 houdans moving!!!!!!!
Haha so neat I love seeing live egg pics, I'm glad it's not a total loss I think the ones that hatch will make all of this worth it in the end I started with 32 and down to 15 myself
