If I absolutely have to open an incubator when some eggs are hatching, I spritz them with hot water. It does not feel really hot to the chick because of the spritz form, but it helps with the membrane not drying out. I absolutely had to open my incubator last night during lockdown. I had 21 quail hatched and some were stuck under and in between the egg cartons. I had to get them out so they did not get hurt. I just used a normal water bottle for hair and put a good spritz of water on each eggs as soon as I opened the lid, then I got the dry babies out and put them in the brooder. It didn't take long, but I wanted to make sure the other eggs did not dry out. I went a little crazy with this hatch. As far as eggs, I had 12 ducks, 18 chicks, and 30 quail in the hatcher at the same time.
