Well, the first drama of the hatch unfolded this evening

I have a sensitive temperature probe that I put into the IncuCubebator (the one with only 12 eggs) since yesterday afternoon it noticed that the temperature would have wide swings from 98.2 up to 101.4 and the humidity had plummeted to 20%.

It was driving me nuts as to why.

I finally figured it out. The thin plastic window on the back side had come loose, cold air had been rushing in for who knows how long.
I may not have noticed it but for the drop in humidity and the need to add more water to the little reservoirs at the bottom.

I really wanted those polish crosses to hatch as well as the GCMaran. And I had my bluest of eggs from my own girls in there as well.

Oh well, you win some, you loose some. I'm leaving them in there until candle. So much for that $90.00

I got some duct tape and taped it down along the bottom margin as well as up along the sides.
Now the temp only fluctuates from 99.4 to 100.8 a much better swing in temp. My humidity is a tad on the high side... guess I didn't need to add so much... but it's slowly going down.

We'll see what they all look like at first candle on the 10th.

My BR Betty finally decided to stop playing around and sit on her eggs full time tonight so I'm in too. She's stayed on the nest longer every day after laying her egg, but tonight she didnt' get off at all.

Mahonri, I'm sorry to hear about your bator problems. If I'm reading this right and you're only a day or so into it maybe it won't mess things up too bad.

I posted about 10 min. ago on this thread but it didn't show up, hope I wasn't too impatient and get a double.

Okay, count me in for my first ever attempt. I am one coop behind in my building so I am only attempting to hatch 3. I have 2 NN / EE cross and 1 NN / Ideal 236 cross, interesting to see what happens with those. My only question is when I tried to find out what temperature they were set at, my BA growled something fierce at me!

I'm in! First set in the TSC Styrofoam thing with egg turner. I couldn't decide on something for me so I am setting a friend's Isa Browns and two bantam mixed from my little flock. I just had to give it a run. That gives me three weeks to decide which ones to buy on eBay.
