Setting on Good Friday

What day are you looking? I really couldn't see anything until day 10 then I just went by the air sack a few I could see veins but not all probably because I only had 5 hatch from the original 15 that came in a squished box most of mine ended up clear....if they don't smell I don't toss these were marans very dark eggs

I'll be doing candle #1 for the lot on Saturday afternoon or evening.

We'll see how all of those shipped eggs did. Out of the 95 eggs, 80 were shipped.

Stay tuned.

My Jersey Giant broody threw out an egg yesterday. I openned it and it was clear. How do they know?!? She is now sitting on 15 and due on the 22nd.

Use a super strong led small flash light. The ones i am iffy on i leave for a few more days you will see veins. I have a flash light from home depot that works great

Well my duck was sitting on 4 eggs i checked they were clear poor girl been on them two weeks i tossed them. She was very upset make all sorts of noise and will not leave her nest still. I checked my chikcken who has 7 or so under her i saw 4 for sure i will ck tonight when its darker > I am a bit concerned as the weather has droped the last few days so i turned a heat lamp on in the coop i hope her eggs will be ok.

on another note been having so much fun trying to get the temp right in the bators the temp droped so fast the other nite outside it droped the temp in bators dwn by 2 degrees but i checked the babies are still moving. SoCan a duck hatch other eggs beside duck eggs or are they to wet and cause to much humidity?

Hi all, well I still have 75 eggs, `A total of 20 out of the 95 eggs have been removed.

28 eggs from Peachick (Kathy) at first candle 24 eggs remain. (these were all in the hovabator... so I still have 85% of hers... not bad at all!

34 eggs from Wayne Meredith at first candle 29 eggs remain. not bad for shipped eggs 85% remain.

18 eggs from pasofinofarm (Melissa) at first candle 11 eggs remain. 5 clear and two quitters that were most likely scrambled. 61% but to be fair she warned me about a fertility issue with one of the hens, and I don't know why, but I've always felt the P.O. there treats them a tad rougher than most.

My eggs
1 GC Maran (should be pure) 1 egg still there but it's iffy
3 BWA X BBL Polish (Policauna.. ) 3 still there but 2 are iffy
3 BWA X Salmon Faverolle 1 egg remains. Her back is the barest and two were clear ????????
1 BWA X Black Star . 1 egg, Still there!
7 BWA X W/BWA from my coop. 5 eggs remain.2 were quitters both of these in the IncuCubebator. Also in there, one of mine with a crack above the air cell remains!

95 eggs total ---- 75 total eggs at first candle 4 of 12 removed from IncuCubator, 3 of those remain IFFY

I'm thinking that they should be further along. The eggs in the Brinsea (all Wayne's eggs) seemed to be further along than the hovabator, so I imagine they will hatch first. Their air cells were much more uniform as the Brinsea keeps it at a constant 35% humidity.

We candled our 15 welsummer eggs last night using an old slide projector. I am quite sure about 9 of the eggs, but I really couldn't tell with the other 6. I'll just have to keep them going.

I'll stay alert to odor, because I'd hate to have an explosion ruin my entire batch.
