Got my first two pips!!!

Just as Day 20 began at 4PM, the BWA X Salmon Faverolle pipped!... and we could hear it chirping.
10 minutes later pip #2. One of Peachicks BLUE eggs!

Wahoo!

Congrats I hope i have more pips my humidity droped the dang weather here went from 60 to 40 tonight and the heater came on in the house so i added a bit of water bator lid lifted for like 30 seconds hope all goes well.

Both pips are out and chirping.

But, no other eggs have pipped.

Well i woke to chirping one chick is out and another has a pip. The chick that is out is knocking the eggs around. How long do yall leave the hatch chick in once it has hatched? Its been awhile since i have done this. The eggs went in on the first so this is day 20 i think LOL

Took my broody off the next for her morning feeding, no pips...today is day 20. Promised her that I wouldn't check again until tomorrow. *sigh*

I have finally candled the dozen of brown eggs I got from a local farm. 9 of them were infertile, I removed them this morning and cracked open - just a liquid egg - no development

. The first 2 dozens are from my friend and although I have not candled the darker ones, most, if not all, seemed good when I candled them. Day 18 will end at 11am tomorrow. I guess I should go into lockdown tonight.

I have 3 more that have tiny cracks. I still have the chick that hatched in there this morning . I realy dont want to open the bator to let him out. I will just keep a eye on him.
