As a science project, dgd will compare home-made incubator to hen setting as egg hatchers. Dumb question, will hen still lay her unfertile eggs as she is hatching fertile eggs?

You have to wait for her to go broody before she will set the eggs. Then she won't lay eggs while she is setting.

thanks, oh well, since she just started laying eggs, maybe we'll just do the home made incubator for now. Science fairs and hens don't always coincide, do they?
