I set 47 eggs on 3/3/12 due to hatch 3/24/12 I have add 3 more since then. I lost my only green egg laying chicken yesterday so I add the last 2 that I had from her. The other was one Was add to replace a broken one that I bought and from a hen I love,so 50 in all. I just candled and out of the 11 green I have no idea, the rest there are 31 that I am sure I saw something in, That leaves 6 I am not sure of and the 2 from Lucky.

I just candled mine and I can see them moving all over in the eggs!

Candled all my eggs (except quail since I just put them in yesterday). They all look good except one

Seems my 2nd time is going by much faster then my 1st time incubating, this might just get addicting. Next week I have to go pick up eggs for the easter hatch and figure out how I'm going to split the hatches. I didn't think that far in advance LOL.

aww, that's sad about your hen. i'm so glad you have some eggs of hers to hatch. i have a wonderful pet chicken and i would love to hatch some of her eggs! but i have no rooster. i wonder if i could let me friend take her for a couple weeks? she has roosters. i should probably post this somewhere else. just kinda typing out loud right now (like thinking out loud....only typing, lol)

thank you I already have two of her chicks in my brooder just not sure which ones they are, but this next time I will for they will be the only two to hatch at that time.

I am late joining in, but I set 19 of my own Blue Wheaten/Wheaten Ameraucanas, 4 of my own Mille Fleur bantam Cochins, 4 black bantam Cochins and 8 Blue Mille/Mille bantam Cochin eggs. I candled two days ago and took out my 4 Mille eggs, 5 BW/W Ameraucana eggs and 5 of the other bought bantam Cochin eggs as they were not developing. I got a delivery of 13 more BW/W Ameraucana eggs from White Mountains Ranch and set them on Wednesday night. I collected 3 more eggs from my Mille Cochins and set them on Wednesday night as well. If you were doing the math, I have 38 eggs set.

My 19 BW/W Ameraucana eggs were collected over a 3.5wk period so I am thrilled to still have 14 eggs in there! One does look like it may have quit, but I can't be sure until about day 10.

ETA: I set the first round on 3/2/12. The 2nd round was the 7th.

I'm going to candel tonight

, it's day seven.

And my second batch is set.......one of my paint bantam silkies has gone broody.........she sits on four paint bantam silkie eggs and three maran eggs. She is on day two now. And on day seven i'll have to check the maran eggs, because i've only had them for a week and i don't know if they where with a rooster where they came from. My little roosters don't like them yet.

I'll try to take pictures when candling.
