Well I had one hatch, but it sadly didn't make it. My daughter opened the incubator to get him out before I could stop her.

So my hatch might be lost :(

did the one hatch all the way out? why didn't he make it? i'm so sorry

well, the others might be just fine. i've opened my bator during hatchings in the past just to remove babies or whatever. as a matter of fact, this is my 3rd year hatching and my 1st time not opening it for whatever reason. but believe me, i WANT to open it to get the hatched chicks out of there! i am waiting on 5 more pipped eggs to hatch. if i open it now, i will be afraid of shrink wrapping the 5 eggs. and once i get that fear, then i feel i have to help them out etc etc. but i'm trying to tell you that in the past, when i opened the bator, most were fine. there was always the occasional one i would help. but most did just fine. would i recommend opening the bator? NO! lol! but you couldn't help what happened. and if you think about nature....i'm sure the momma hen gets up even if just to stretch or put her nosy head under there to check on the progress. u know? they should be fine.
as far as pics go guys....well, i have NO CLUE how to do it and i must wait for hubby to help me and he's been working 12 hours shifts...so hopefully tomorrow

sorry, i'm computer illiterate! but anyway, i've lost count as to how many chicks i've got running around the bator. i just know 5 more need to hatch....and about 4 or 5 haven't even pipped. and they are ALL black and grey accept ONE! i was so surprised when SHE came out (lol...hoping for a she)....she is a complete yellow chick except for 1 or 2 tiny black dots.

I have my first homebred true Ameraucana out! Yay! Still only one other pip (zipping now). I saw one of my bantam Cochins trying to internally pip yesterday (could see it trying to get through the membrane), but none of them are doing anything yet.

Yes she hatched all the way out, but still had the yolk on her, Her head was developed, but the rest of her wasn't really doing well. She flapped her wings once or twice.

I had this baby girl peeping away. Something told me to get up (2 hours before the alarm went off LOL) and here she is, must of just hatched because she's still scruffy looking :)
