Did I mention I hate Little Giant incubators?
This thing has been running from 93-105 and I haven't been able to get it to settle down. I'm afraid hatch isn't going to be good.
Last time I used it it got as low as 94 and as high as 104 and I still got 50% hatch but it stayed between 100-101 most of the time. This time it hasn't landed near 100 at all. A little cool isn't as devastating as too high.
This hatch was to determine the fertility of a roo. I'm not giving him the best effort from my end but can't afford a decent incubator nor the time to build one.
I am going on a day trip tomorrow and will not be able to turn my eggs but early morning and late evening. It will be day 4. I hope they will be fine. I hate not having a turner but at this point it is cheaper to just hand turn as I only incubate a few times. Maybe I will splurge in the spring and get a new incubator if I can talk the DH into it
I set 14 Mixed Heritage and Rare breed eggs from 'revolutionmama' on 8/18. They're due 9/7. I know I have 3 Bantam Polish, 3 Lavender Silkies, a few Coronation Sussex, and 1 Black Sumatra egg, and after that?
I wanted 7 eggs, I ended up with 20. So I made a homemade incubator to do this, needless to say I had to make a second one to fit all the eggs. So finally as of today I got the eggs in the incubator. Here are the breeds I have eggs for.
4 - Leghorn, 4 - Bantam, 6 - Americauna, 4 - Polish Crested, 2 - Surprise cause they are unkown.
Awww I love bantams! And I just adopted a couple of year old polish bearded boys. They're still in the testing stage. They are very skittish. I don't think they were treated very great before..... I'm trying with them but I have a couple of 6 week old sexlinks that mean more to me so we'll see how it goes.

Well hopefully they can all get along. I just hope when I have this batch hatch, I can get them to get along with the two I have already. Only time will tell.
Ok, just checked the incubator and i have 9 eggs that appear to have healthy, growing chicks inside them! 4 more days to go on the Polish Tolbunts! I can hardly wait until Thursday. Ruth
