She’s taking a little water from a dropperand I’m trying to warm her. She had frost on her beak. Here she is now.
She is precious and beautiful! Give her kisses from us all.

I agree as well- I feel like it should be a note whenever discussing heating with a bulb.
I agree. It would be fabulous on ALL teflon coated bulbs and packaging to have a red circle with a line over a picture of mixed chickens, birds, etc.

How about prednisone ? I dont see it mentioned anywhere and I am thinking humans get it to shrink inflammation in the lungs. albuterol puffers for asthma opens the airway. No idea on chickens , just a thought .
2 kids with asthma, plenty of albuterol. She seems to have a bit of atrophy in her right leg- hoping the day brings healing.

What do you guys think ?

Not untill the bird survives, I would think. I don't think inflammation is as big a problem as the toxic gas itself. Prednisone is only taxing the liver more right now.

Yes, these bulb manufacturers need to know these dangers, feed stores should not be selling them either.
I've never seen an unsafe bulb in a feed store but anything's possible. Smaller stores could easily carry the wrong ones. Reptile bulbs are specifically labeled as bird safe, at least the ones I get are. Zoo Med brand I think.
