I am so sorry for your losses. Thank you for sharing so we can all learn. I had read elsewhere that coated bulbs emit some sort of toxic gas. Read a story where the flock wax found dead and tbe rooster had his wing around his favorite hen. I forget where I read it. After your tragedy, I don’t think many of us will easily forget about the possible danger with bulbs. I’m so sorry.

I am seeing a ton of people learning from this. You may have saved 100s/1000s or more chickens due to this. Your girls will live on in all of us that learned from this incident and as we pass the word on hopefully this will never happened again.

My heart breaks for you. I know its hard, but you have to forgive yourself. It's clear to everyone that it was a very sad accident. Who knows how many chicken lives have been saved by the two of you sharing your story.
