Seven week old roo injured by fox-- Update pg2 :(

Hello,
Sorry about your roo

We have had a lot of trouble too. We use antibiotics from the feed store (its a yellow powder)... they have helped us many times and great to keep on hand.

What type of rooster is he? We have a similar one that we have not been able to identify.

Good luck.

Thank you, I'm so sad.

I was advised earlier that terramycin would not be any good in this case (???)

The thing is, now his leg looks like it is getting better. The bruising is going down as well as the swelling. It feels the same temp and his other leg and no pus or redness, no swelling of the actual bites.

BUT-- the crazy boy is starving himself to death

He is nothing but bones and feathers and can barely lift his head. Last night I started trying to feed him a mixture of yogurt, agave, and oat flour with an eyedropper. He swallows a tiny bit. I'm afraid it may be too late though! I wish I had thought of something sooner

innof8happinesses-- He is half buff orpington and half unknown as the owner of the chickens we got the eggs from has several different breeds and he didn't give us any specifics. (nieghbor of a relative
