Several questions. Doxycycline treatment length? Also Baytril??

What is on the label of the Baytril, and is it a 10% liquid?

Forgot to answer this questions earlier. I don't have the original container of the Baytril. The label says: "Enrofloxacin / Baytril 100 Inj. #29471 (15ml)." I'm supposed to put 3ml in 1L of water and change it out every 3 days according to the directions and they gave me 6 doses of the 3ml.

It depends on what it's actually being used for!
Mary

It was prescribed for mycoplasma. Whether the vet was correct on the diagnosis or not, I feel I should finish the course of antibiotics since they've been started already... I just want to know if 15-20 days sound accurate for that use?

I have used any of these antibiotics before on my own chickens, but I try to help others find info about them. I have heard from others that Baytril is best given orally or by injection, since it tastes very bad and chickens will not drink the medicated water. I would ask the vet how much you can give orally. Usually, most people use a 10% solution, given at 0.05 ml per pound of weight twice daily for 5 days, and that is the only dosage I know. I would five the Doxy as long as the vet prescribed. Egg withdrawal time would be 12 days after treatment. As Mary said, it depends on the infection as to how long an antibiotic is given.
