Severe bumblefoot

Most chickens 4-6 pounds which includes a lot of breeds, can get Valbazen 1/2 ml (0.5 ml) orally once and then repeat that in 10 days to get the worm eggs.
I started off weighing them but generally speaking the bigger birds were 4-6 pounds and the little ones were 2-3 so half way along I just started dosing them either 1/2 or 1/4 ml which seems so minuscule but 🤞🏻

Swelling is going down some. Misty is still not interested in eating anything beyond leaves, cabbage, and grapes. I’ll be happy when we’re done with these antibiotics.

Glad to hear it’s looking better. She’s so pretty.

What else have you offered her? Maybe wetted down feed or scrambled egg?

You might try offering her a bit of plain Greek yogurt, too, since she’s getting an antibiotic.
Yes, that is a very good idea. I have a chicken with a bad case of bumblefoot, but it is not exactly so bad, but it is close. I came across this thread for help, but for me, there is no option of vet. 😭I really do hope your chicken, Misty, gets better!

I agree, she is so pretty!
I would try giving her fermented feed.
Chickenlandia, a youtuber has a great video on fermenting feed, if you don't know how.

I really do hope she gets better! ❤️:hugs

Welcome to the site! Sorry to hear about your chicken. Have you tried posting a thread about your chicken’s bumblefoot? You could post pictures and I bet you’d get some helpful advice 🙂
