How old are they and where did they come from?

I'm seeing a barred rock pullet and red sex link hens. Although, one of those red sex links looks like a second generation color to me. Still looks like a female unless it's quite young.

Looks like you have one Barred Rock pullet and two Red Sex-link (also called Red Stars) pullets. I agree with donrae, though, in that one of the Red Stars looks like a second generation colored one. Despite that, I still think its a pullet.

They are between 5 and 6 months old. What does second generation colored mean? And does that mean there are no roosters? When should they start to lay?

At that age they all look like hens. Those red girls look like they should be laying, if not now within the next month. If you free-range them, I'd go on an intensive egg hunt and/or confine them to a run for a few days to see if anyone's hiding eggs.
