You'll likely get mostly black birds with red leakage, and some red birds. No sex linkage from this cross.Anyone crossed a RIR roo and black sex link hens? Love to see some pics if you have

Solid black cochin, no. I believe a silver laced would make sex links..I have a Buckeye rooster over a pure barred rock that hatched a male black sex link with the white spot on its head. Yay, looks like it works.
Would there be any sex link traits with a Buckeye over a black Cochin female?
is the Other way around, the girls will have all black skin and the males will have white skin, now this only works of the male side of that cross is the Silkie one AND... The mother had white/yellow shanks..Boys will have black skin and girls will have white/yellow. any truth to that? Seems too good to be true.

post pics when they hatch.. we really dont need their chick down to be dry to have them sexed, thats what so cool about this sexlinked cross, that you can sex them even before they completely break loose from the egg, while other Sexlinks or Autosexing chicks need to have the chick down all dry to sex themThanks... That is our situatuation. This is really very exciting. Those babies are hatching this weekend and i will be able to tell right away. hope to keep a boy and a girl and sell the rest. Going to breed both to silkies. Working on a Silkied D'Uccle.
