Sex- linked Information

So I have got a rooster that was from two black australorps . He shows the black sex link pattern, but how can that happen?

Agree with the above. Barring doesn't "hide", except maybe under dominant white, which is not the case with Australorps. With a rooster it could have been either parent, but one wasn't an Aussie, it was barred.

Ok so my chicks hatched yesterday, and there dad was a black sex link roo. I know I won't be able to tell whether it is a boy or not, but was wondering if they would look like their father?

the usually break back to the breeds that made the sex link. They do not look like a sex link

This rooster is not sex link. If he were a red sex link he's be white with red patches, if he were a black sex link he'd be barred.

Since he's black, chances are pretty good you'll have several black chicks.....depending on the mommas.

Well Technically he could be a "Sexlink" but statistically its a LONG shot.. what this means? there is a genetic way to reproduce a "sexlinked" rooster that looks all black(with or without red shoulders) but its highly unlikely this Black male is one of them..
