Hello and thanks in advance. I have 3 chickens, and they are my first, so I am a newbie at this. I got two of them, including the frizzle, July 1st, and was told they were about 5 weeks old. So now they should be around 15 weeks old. I got the Welsummer about a week later and was told she was 3 weeks old. So she is around 12 or 13 weeks now? My easter egger is undoubtedly a hen. The two in question are the frizzle and the Welsummer. I guess the frizzle must be a bantam, because she is now less than half the size of the other two.
Little background info on behavior:
I got the frizzle and easter egger together, and less than a week later I got a turken/naked neck that was twice their size and thought to be a pullet. Well the frizzle began attacking the naked neck, and by the next morning the naked neck had a viable sore on its neck. I freaked out and gave her away to a nice couple the next day, so she could be safe. Then a day or so later I got the Welsummer. The frizzle started all out attacking her, too. I know I am a beginner at this, but this just couldn't have been considered pecking order stuff, but rather all out beast mode. So I put the frizzle in time out for a couple days. When I reintroduced her, she was nice, and all three have been best buddies since. The little frizzle is the frindliest and bravest of the three. So, I am figuring if she wass a rooster, she would not have attacked the new chickens, unless they were roosters, too. Is that right? For several weeks her comb has looked so much more pronounced and pinkish-redish than my easter egger. But if she is a he, then why would she have attacked the Welsummer, unless the Welsummer is also a he? Please forgive my ignorance. I really love my three chicks, and really hope they are girls. Of course no crowing yet, or that would be a giveaway. Thank you for your time and help!
