Sex of quail?

I’m completely unsure how to sex quail.
I think the darkest one is a male (front in the 3rd picture) I know at least one is laying.
If anyone know what their colouring is called that would be great too.

The first two are not feather sexable, and I'm not sure on the last one because the chest and head aren't visible.

I'm afraid you'll have to vent sex or wait until they start crowing or laying eggs.

The one that's currently laying will have a larger vent than the ones not currently laying xx

The males will produce foam whereas the females won't but if you catch them after they have bred, the female may also have foam. The other thing I have done is separate the birds and leave the ones your unsure of singled out. They become stressed and will usually call out. Male calls will let you know right then.
