I see a small spur nub on the speckled sussex. Just sayin..

I think that's not a reliable sexing criteria, I've got two pullets with obvious spur nubs, the one with the biggest lumps is my best layer...

Females can grow full blown spurs.

They're pullets.
Spurs aren't an accurate way to tell gender in chickens. All chickens have spur buds. All of them. And females can grow spurs... I have a gold spangled hamburg with one spur.
