I didn’t manage to get an actual picture of them roosting, I can do that tonight if I need to. But I did manage to bribe them with a blade of grass so I could get a decent pic of their chests with their chests side by side like that I think I can even see a slight difference between them so hopefully they’re a pair!

Yay!! Thank you so much casportpony and everyone! I always guessed Aspen was a girl and she’s the one on the right and thank you for helping me see how to tell for future reference. Taking all the pictures helped me see th differences between them!

You're welcome! The differences can be subtle, but your gut was right.

Boys have more barring and they have the darker check feathers. You also noticed the the boy displays more, which is one of the things I look for.

Girls have less barring and the lighter less colorful chest feathers.

Do you have pictures of them when the were younger? If you do I'd like to see them.

Aspen did always seem a little friendlier and not as wild! And Yes, they both displayed but Delta definitely did it way more! Every morning when they got up or anytime they got excited he would start displaying. And I have tons of pictures and videos! These two are my first peafowl so I was sure to document every moment of it I mostly have videos but I took some screenshots. I don’t have as many pictures of Aspen as a baby because the peck wound on her head looked so bad!

I see a slight color difference, though it could be the lighting. The one with the pecked head looks darker, and that sometimes can mean it's female.
