Updating this thread for you folks who may want to know how this one is turning out. The Delawegger is a cockerel, of course. His name is Gideon and this is how he looks today, at the age of 5 1/2 weeks old. The brown coloring went away, though some red/brown/wheaten may come back in the wings/tail as he matures:
