Sexing 11 week old Buff Silkie (PLEASE HELP)

Honestly I don’t know if you’re beautiful Silkie layed the egg or not but it looks more like a pullet to me. How big is your egg? Do you have other Silkies that could have layed it? Congratulations if he/she did lay the egg! It would be awfully early though for a silkie to lay as they don’t normally lay until till 7 to 9 months of age. 5 months would be the earliest.

15 weeks old laying! Wow! ...earliest I've had a Silkie lay is 6months old. ..Still waiting on one that's 11 months old. Congrats on your gorgeous pullet!

Please do, because that is how we all learn. I'm usually pretty good at predicting silkie sexes so am very interested to see if I got it wrong, and what I can learn from that.

And heres more pictures of all of them together, only the light buff has a purplish comb but they all have very small undeveloped flat combs that don't have rise up, does this help? Any guesses?

Okay this thread is very interesting I do agree it looks like a young roo. And it’s incrediably rare for a silkie to lay early. So my brain and thoughts are shattered . Did you hatch them and are sure they are that old ? And is it possible that someone else laid the egg and the silkie went over and sat right over it? My boy has done that.. keep us posted. Would enjoy more photos of side to side and the back view

Update: Still no crowing or any more " egg-laying, but they still look the and are about 17 weeks old now! crowns are still basically non-existant.

I was pretty sure that the two lighter/tan colored silkies (I kept the brownish one, because I definitely knew she was a girl) were males so I actually was able to find someone willing to trade them for some silky mixed hens and I was wondering if you guys would know what breeds the two hens are mixed with, I was thinking one was mixed with Ayam Cemani.
