Hi all - new to Easter Eggers (edit: NOT Amereucanas) and wondering if any of these are looking one way or another on their gender yet. Thanks for any input!

They are Easter egger bantams, not purebred Ameraucanas.

We really need clear photos of the combs to tell, but I think 1 and 2 are females based on their even color pattern. 4 looks like a cockerel to me. 3 is questionable-- more photos needed.

How do you know the difference? I was sold these eggs as pure Amereucanas - doesn't super matter to me, but I'd like to know for the future!

Ameraucanas only come in a few colors. One of them is silver, but your birds aren't quite right in coloring for that. There is blue and a bit of red/brown mixed in. The legs should be slate blue for silver Ameraucanas, not black or green. And I see little in the way of beards and muffs on your birds. All these things point to Easter eggers, not Ameraucanas.

Not that there is anything wrong with Easter eggers. They are great. Just shouldn't be sold as purebred Ameraucanas.

Thank you! I appreciate it
