Sexing 8-week old Faverolles

Yeah, i have seen threads on some of the hatchery faverolles with black beards. I am actually rather pleased with the color so far on the first two in this thread (Farah and Hedgewig.). They seem to be leaning towards cream chests and salmon or salmon/blue backs. I have never seen any with chest barring, however, like my Cuckoo.

The barring is pretty unique looking.
Im on my first ever round of hatchery Faverolles myself.
I got ten as a quality/service test for a particular hatchery and just to have babies I got a huge mixed bag lol.
All ten are still thriving warts and all.
Black beards, smooth faces, ive even got a cross beak with lower mental capacity and a pullet with a deformed foot but no barred kids.
That is pretty neat.

@Chickassan -- Can I ask -- which hatchery did you use?

Unfortunately Cuckoo, who may end up very pretty, is the one who sneezes (or coughs, or makes a ptff sound) every minute or so. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with him/her. Cuckoo also seems to be devoid of tail-feathers. But the weirdest part is that he/she is the smartest, and the only one I could teach to use the water nipples (of course the others learned after Cuckoo learned.) I do think the other 3 might be mentally challenged. Perhaps Cuckoo is a mixed breed, and the others are full (inbred?) faverolles?

The OPs birds all look like pullets to me.

Unfortunately this is not the case with a lot of hatchery stock.

These are all pullets, and I have seen worse. Pullets with solid black fronts and beards.

I used Hoovers this time, since they supply TSC.
I have a single girl from Meyers as well.
Yours look like Ideal stock they tend to have the more unique colored ones.
As for crossbreeds, no Cuckoo is full the breed in general is a little "dippy" lol.
Once in a while you get a smarty but mostly they're flakes.
It is one of my favorite things about them.
The tail feathers, that happens they'll grow in, this one grew back feathers but no tail it did eventually grow though.

Haha as a general rule you'd be correct. I didn't realize how badly colored some hatchery Salmon Favs were either until I got one this year, and the first chest feathers she grew in were black. She shed pretty much all of those so she now has a mostly creamy white chest, but it took a few months to get there.

My Faverolles came from Cackle and from day one it was obvious who was a boy. Even as day old chicks, the boys had black patches. Maybe I just got lucky.
