I have two Ayam Cemanis, Juno and Jade. I am hoping for one boy and one girl, I wanna breed them (plus I like roosters more anyway). Do you know what they are? They are about three months.

Agree, don’t know much about the breed, except I also want some... by the side by sides I would suspect a pair. Are you certain they share exact parentage? I don’t think a little inbreeding is too awful in poultry when occasional, that’s one of the methods for improving and selecting traits after all... will wait on some more informed opinions, best of luck!

They do look like a pair... though I can't make out saddle feathers... I think I can make out pointy hackles on the cockerel.. I couldn't find any good hackle comparison so here is a saddle sample..

Close inbreeding of chickens is not as much of a problem as it is in mammals... problems will not usually pop up until several generations of close inbreeding (brother to sister). Many folks do it... either line breeding or spiral breeding. Especially if they have traits they want to set.

Breeding back the daughters to their sire or sons to their dame is acceptable and even less issue than brother to sister.

Depending on where they came from and how many hens and roosters they had... they may only be half siblings or not at all.

If you see lots of deformities or have fertility issues (once mature not pullet eggs)... then they might already be too inbred. Lots of unknowns.. makes for some adventure and learning! :wee
