so please bare with me. My girls are in the 4H broiler project to show chickens. The agent said they could bring a cage of males and a cage of females. How do I tell the differance?

I'm not too sure if I'm answering this right, but here it goes. A broiler project, if the same as a market bird project, requires three to four birds same breed, sex and size. Broilers are the biggest of the market birds, with fryers the younger. The easiest way is to order several white cornish cross birds (they are best for these projects) at least eight weeks before they are to have their project completed. By this time the birds have developed enough to seperate them by sex. Comb size is your best way to tell the difference. The Cornish crosses are eating machines, keep this in mind.
