Sexing chicks by the wings...Like in that video

I wanted RI Reds but got two other kinds the other day. When i went back in to TSC they had some RI's but they were straight run. I am wondering if I could sex them myself by using what they did on that video about the chicken hatchery with the wings. Is that technique only for some chicks? Anyone know? Thanks
