I have watched several YouTube videos on determining sex of baby chicks at 1-4 days old by the small pin feathers on the wings. They said it cannot be used on bantam breeds or silkie breeds. But it can be used for the normal full size breeds. Has anyone used this method on newborn chicks? And how easy and accurate is it? Hoping this works so I don't have to wait 3-6 weeks to wait for adult traits to start showing

I have leghorns, Anconas. Andalusians, Rhode island reds, Delawares and austrolorps. All pretty standard type breeds

I think you may be able to wing sex Australorp too. In some breeds wing feathers grow faster in females. It doesn't occur in all breeds.
