Sexing chipmunk pattern chicks

All 3 females my broody hatched in August had solid unbroken dark brown v shaped stripe starting on top of the head and going all the way down the back.

The males stripe varied in width and was 2 shades of brown

It doesn't work with all the breeds.
This chipmunk chick (golden salmon marans) is turning out to be a pretty and very obvious little boy, although the stripes at birth clearly indicated female...in theory only :

The eyeliner was nice and dark and well defined too.

So depending on what breed you have, don't rely on pattern to sex young chicks.
The stripe has to be v shaped on top of the head. This one has a dark stripe but it doesn't look like its v shaped on top of the head
Could this chick be sexed? Light Sussex x blue partridge cross. View attachment 4229877View attachment 4229878
My 2 males had a single stripe multiple shades of brown on their head and neck. What breed is this chick? Its adorable!
