How can you tell the sex of a Cockatiel? I've always heard that under the tail barring it's a female and if it's one solid color its a male?.

That only works for certain mutations like normal greys. And only works after they moulted for the first time.

It is kind of hard to tell the sex of a teil until they go thru their first molt. All my males had barring on their tails as well as the females.

I think I'll get a blood test done, I don't want to wait till the first molt.
