Sexing couturnix quail?

The babies from my first hatch have now reached 6 weeks. Since my goal is egg production and meat, I'd like to separate out the males to fatten them up, but I'm unsure how to sex them. I know the males let out foam if you push on a spot under their vent but none of the ones I checked this way let out foam. Is there an alternate method like feather growth that I should be considering as well or am i just doing it wrong? Or maybe they're just too young to sex this way?

Give them another week or two; or check them about one week after you start hearing them crow.
Butchering for meat usually occurs at 9 weeks, so you have time to figure it out

Are they the normal brown variety or something else? With the normal browns, you can sex by coloration.

They're a mix. Mostly brown, some sand, some blue, one almost white.

Well with the browns, males will have a solid colored breast, and females will have a speckled brown breast.

Males will have solid brown/ tan feathers on their chest and females will have speckled feathers

Some of them don't have the same coloring but i know this method works on the standard brown coutinx quail
