Sexing Cuckoo Silkies

From what I understand about cuckoos, they can be sexed by their head spot? They are only day old chicks, so I know I won't be able to sex them otherwise. They are from a cuckoo roo (Double dose of cuckoo gene) and either black, partridge or white hen. They all appear to be cuckoo chicks (as the genetics calculator told me), but some are darker or lighter or have bigger, smaller or more defined head spots. Any cuckoo experts out there?

If they only have one cuckoo/barred parent you will not be able to tell the sex from the feathering unless the barred parent is the hen [then you get sexlinked chicks, males barred, females not].
In barred to barred breedings males always get 2 barring genes, one from each parent. If only the father is barred, the males will only get one barring gene because they can't get two from one parent, the females will also get a barring gene, so they will be identical.
