Well, the chick I thought was a girl didn't make it a full week. She quit growing, wasn't pooping, and got lethargic, so I put her down. The one I thought was a boy was indeed a boy, but unfortunately, he disappeared over the weekend. We found the darn possum that killed one of our hens a couple months ago hiding behind a cabinet in our shed the day after he disappeared, so I suspect we had inadvertently shut the possum in with our chickens one evening and he decided it was a good place to hang out and live.
He must have killed our chickie.
But we killed the possum, so he will bother us no more!
