Sexing different Coturnix colors

I have Golden Italian and some white with black spots that have a similar pattern to those. Any idea if the speckled chest rule applies to the white birds?

I don’t know if that rule applies or not... I have a white male with spots on his head that I was told was a female. I can tell he’s a male because of the white foam they excrete and he’s mating the hens. I think checking to see if they have that foamy stuff is the surest way to tell.

From what I've been researching, it's only the Pharoah and I THINK the Italians who have the speckle breast change. For all the other colour pattern its vent sexing or waiting for crow/egg lay.

No, just look for testicles under the vent.

No, the only way to tell gender in A&M's is to either vent sex, wait to hear crowing, or laying an egg.

So anything mixed with A&M's has to be vent sexed?

A trick to help with the squirming is to cover their heads and top half with a towel and then flip over.

Pretty much anything other than pharoahs or italians have to be vent sexed. (Speaking of things that sound funny at 4am/out of context)
