Hi all, I'm new to duck breeding and I have a question. I hatched four eggs four weeks ago and I think we have three ducks and one Drake, husband disagrees. I have two photos of them when hatched. I understand you can tell by the beak. Please could someone have a look and give me their opinion.
Thanks ☺️

Not all lines of WH can be sexed by bill color. The difference will fade after the first 3 days or so. From your photos I don't see a clear female indicator; they should have light colored bills and a dark bean at the tip whereas males would have a dark bill. If they are 4 weeks old, I bet you can tell by their quacks! Girls make a loud quack and boys make a sort of hoarse frog noise. As my WH turned into teenager ducks their bill color changed again to their adult colors: females develop a black bill and males develop an olive colored bill.

Thanks for the reply. I definitely have one girl duck she was a very loud quack! The others are still peeping. Although this eve the one in the incubator picture, the dark one, he or she started making small quack noises when swimming. That one is the youngest - four weeks today. I'll just have to wait and see.😄
