Hi, I just acquired 3 peafowl chicks, a dream come true! I'm totally new to peafowl and trying to learn all I can about them. The guy I bought them from couldn't say if they were male or female. He said they were 2 months old. I'm assuming they are regular Indian blues, that's what the parents looked like.

They seem to be adjusting well here and it looks like they are tagging on to my family group of guinea fowl :) I love them! I'm spending lots of time staring at them and trying to decide if they are males or females. Anyone have an idea? Pics:

Comparing the three of them together it looks like 2 hens and one male. Here's some pictures of my Indian Blue chicks I have raised a long with my hen since hatching.

Thanks!! That would be perfect if they were 1 male and 2 females. Your 2 months old look a lot bigger than mine, could it be that mine are actually younger? Or maybe growing slower because of low protein food? (I noticed that's what happens with guinea fowl).

Could be that they are a month old is what they look like since they are starting to get neck feathers. What's the protein level they are on? Mine were on a 28% protein for 1 month and then they were moved to a 22% protein after that.

I'm feeding them chick feed with 20% protein (highest I can find around here) but I don't know what they were fed before I got them. I give the quail crushed fish food now and then to boost their protein, I can start giving some to the peas, too.
