sexing peachicks

i wish i hadmy camera with me when i oppened up the pea shed today.
pearl taught the kids how to roost so alll 4 of them were standing in a line on the temporary roost just lookin at me .
would have been such a cute shot.
altho pearl was passing the back door wanting into the run.

Wanted to know if anyone could help sex peachicks. I want a midnight hen and the breeder is having trouble. They are 3 mos now.

Those babies look younger than 3 months old and it is very hard to make out anything with this photo, See if this photo was taken when they were younger and mabe they can get an updated one

The top pic in th link you sent shows 4 peas,,my guess is the one against the wall is a male b/s and the 2nd one from the front is a b/s male,,without seeing their backs in the pics,,if you want more decisive answers ask for better pics from the sellers.

Arbor,,you post 170 is what I'm wanting to do.It will prove once and for all that PEAFOWL feathers DO CHANGE color,as they grow.A lot of links posted regarding this subject saying otherwise is NOT PEAFOWL relevant,,by doing this during embryo development all feathers should come in one color,,and as the chick grows, the feathers will change to what the normal color of whatever variety peachick I have chosen to use for this.I was wanting to use a B/S egg, since we know those chicks will be,or should be yellow once hatched out.Only problem is if it's a male b/s the color may just change slow enough not to really tell much of a diffrence. If I chose and IB as the subject it would definately mask all the barring on the wings for a long time.
My issue doing this is available eggs to try,and timing.Eggs production has went down to a crawl here, except my Charcoals who now thinks it's April,,and wanting everything possible out of my dark pied charcoal male that I can get is the goal of the 2012 laying season,,hatching peachicks in September with only 1-1 1/2 months to gain growth before cold weather hits is an obstacle I don't want to face.I need to do a fertility check, then check dates on other eggs I put in the bator the past week,,then I will know if this can be done.I will have no need to stain or bleach the feathers, nor use Photoshop to change the pictures.

ok guys im taking my thread back.

So, I have been studying Twig and Sprig to see if I can tell their sex.
They're IBs and just turned 9 weeks.
I've really examined them, and have noticed that the feathers on Twig's chest have light colored shafts, and those on Sprig don't (only the shafts are different, not the feather color, which is brownish) (this is the only difference I can see between them).

Have any of you noticed this kind of difference between M and F IB chicks?
Wondering if this might be a good indicator for others to look for as well.
Of course I will report back when I know their sexes for sure.

Sorry I'm not posting pictures, Mom gets upset when I show up with the camera.
I'll keep trying, though.

the guy i got eclipse and navajo from stopped by the other day . hes a family friend.
we got to talkin bout peas and he mentioned hed like to sell the silver pied chick he has (same age as my 2 pied chicks he had it when we went and wldnt part with it).
so im gona go take a look at it next week and see if its a male or female.
can you tell on them the same way as other?
