sexing peachicks

what beautiful hens! amazing how you can notice those little differences. i'd never have seen the difference in the back of the necks without you saying. but now i see it :)

thats awesome, i was hoping for one boy since we know ones a girl, thank you :) have a great day everyone :)

ok i asked this in another post but i'm impatient :)

do hens get color on their tales? either the long tale feathers or the ones right above them? thanks.

i agree with you and FBC too :) he has way to much color to be a hen. and i think georgia is a hen, looks just like a mature hen now. my husband insists its George tho, because its bigger than the other two. at least Rose was easy, thank goodness for bs's they're easy to tell.

Thanks to all for your input and beautiful pictures :) one month from now i'll be waking up on my honeymoon and when we come home we'll have a new pair of peafowl with us. (sometimes i don't know if i'm more excited finally going on our honeymoon or the birds!!)

oh and FBC, i'd love to come see your pea palace and add to the number of ppl already stopping in, i'll have to plan a trip to illinois :)

Autumnmfisher,,most of the time we're home bodies here, with all the peas and German Shepherds we have.If you've read what "Rainbow Bridge" is I'm sure a lot of critters will be waiting for me.Told wifey to fill my pockets with dog treats and popcorn for the "Peas".We are only about 8 miles from the Indiana State line,,not like once you reach Illinois theres another 250 miles of westward travel to reach us.Lil Zoo,and Judy from Lafayette are just a few that have stopped by.Pen building at the Palace will continue as more colors are added. We have plenty of room for expansion here. And being somewhat alone in this neck of the woods having Peas, likeminded pea admirers who want to stop by and chat and have a look around breaks up the peas routine of only seeing my ugly mugg daily,,and this invitation goes out to anyone driving closeby.
