Our Pekins are just over 7 weeks. Is it true that if they are still sounding squeaky at this age they are males?

We had Pekin ducks (2) last year, and of course, I had no idea who was what. I went to YouTube to be perfectly clear though. (there are some great examples of their quacks) Females have a really spazzy LOUD quack. Males are very quiet. Also, look for the feather or two that curl up on the bum area for drakes. I want to say, it took us longer than 7 weeks to figure it out? You might want to try and separate them, or pick them up to get a better listen if there is too much noise. We ended up having one of each.

If they QUACK loud...they are girls! The quieter ones are more then likely boys....ours started quacking at about 5 weeks old when we picked them up

Post some pics!

I separated them and 7 were loud and 5 made squeaky sounds. They eat SO much so I'm hoping to be able to sell the males sooner than later. We have 16 chickens and 14 ducks and they went through 50 pounds of feed in 5 days and that's with them being pastured.

I have 2 people that want to buy them thankfully :) They are so cute, but we don't want to have too many drakes and then have them try to breed with the chickens. Plus, wow they eat a lot! I will try to take pictures, but I'm not sure how it will help because I can't tell them apart. Maybe I should get bands or something for their ankles just for when I'm trying to sex them?

Beautiful ducks!
I don't see any tale tail drake feathers, but that doesn't mean anything.
2 of my drakes currently don't have a drake feather and they are around the same age as yours.
Drake feathers come and go as they molt or even pluck it out and they may have just not developed it yet.
I rely on the QUACK! LOL

My Pekins are over 8 weeks old and no drake feather on my dude. BUT I can tell you that if you listen to them at that age- their voices were true for me. The girls were LOUD. My dude is sooooooo not loud. He makes a very quiet rasp noise. The difference is like night and day...think of an annoying person next to you on the bus blabbering on her cell phone at full volume and someone whispering to their child quietly on the other side of you. Even my other breeds are like that. Pip (my only Pekin drake) is also the top duck in my flock but he is so quiet.
