Sexing Silkies

I've noticed that my silkies vary greatly in weight when I pick them up (8 straight run partridges). About half feel noticeably heavier at this age, even though their size seems equal. I wonder if the heavy ones are roosters? Anyone notice this with their silkies? Also, a few of mine are getting these great doos.........a sprinkling of spaced out spiky feathers on the tops of their heads..so cute! they stick straight up above the crests!
I can't post pics right now, my regular computer is in the shop. I'm using an old dinosaur.

How about personality? I have some that seem more roosterish and some more calm and sweet. Anyone have experience with that feature?

Enquiring minds want to know.

I wish I could offer up more..... these are my first two Silkies ever! But, if Gerdie turns out to be a she, like I hope, next year I should have lots of chicks to test my theories on!

Charlie was very content as a chick once I got more birds, and he was fairly outgoing. Gerdie peeps a lot even though she has other chicks and often climbs into the box with the big guys where there's no light because she wants to be close to them. She is VERY quiet and reserved otherwise, and when I pick her up she doesn't even struggle.
