I am sorry, I didn't mean to over take this thread with my SA issues. I am learning a lot though with this breed and I truly love my SA, male or female. She...well he, is so tame. I came home today and just held her/him, no fussing he just and played with my hand. Just an all around great duck!! You're a very funny writer and I hope that you can find some hens so you can get those eggs even if you start slow and get 2 hens. Mine is very small compared to yours, I'll have to weigh her again to see where its weight is at.

Well, I’ve ordered four Appleyard females from Meyer, after trying various local options. I’m hoping that a 2:1 duck to drake ratio will be okay next spring. If it isn’t, I will probably rehome one of these gentlemen.
