They're close to being old enough. For sexing from photos:Are these turkey even old enough to be sexed before I start taking more pictures? Also, what variety are they (if you can tell) because I'm leaning towards Royal Palm?View attachment 3263370View attachment 3263371
They're close to being old enough. For sexing from photos:
1. Full front photo (while standing)
2. Full side photo (while standing)
3. Photo from above and behind clearly showing the back of the neck and the top of the head.
Looks like 2 Royal Palms and one Royal Palm with semi-penciling.
I'm thinking based on size that I have a male and two females, but that can change. Also, would they be old enough to put them on a gamebird finisher?I'm thinking they are a little over two months old so close but not quite old enough from pics. You may be able to sex them from their behavior and size difference.
I would put them on all flock. Game bird finisher really isn't what you want to use for heritage breeding turkeys.I'm thinking based on size that I have a male and two females, but that can change. Also, would they be old enough to put them on a gamebird finisher?
Would it be fine to give the rest of the finisher to them? If not could I give it to the adult turkeys?I would put them on all flock. Game bird finisher really isn't what you want to use for heritage breeding turkeys.
Sure you can do any of that. Personally I don't buy finisher.Would it be fine to give the rest of the finisher to them? If not could I give it to the adult turkeys?
Starter to grower to maintenance. Finisher is what it implies, a lower protein feed for finishing off before processing. So you just go starter in to a maintenance feed then?
