Wyandottes mature quite slowly and they are naturally a more domineering breed. It's hard to say because even the hens display "roosterish" behavior amongst a flock containing other breeds. I have a four week old blrw and I have no idea if its a hen or roo. She pushes everyone around- even the confirmed roosters.

Hmmm :( did you find of the wattles reddened more quickly for Roos or if they still had a chance to be Pullets? Also, I heard Roos legs were thicker... Is that the case with BLR? They are all playful and just when I thought one would be "more calm" displaying pullet behavior they turn around and act like a roo. I have no patience in this waiting game! :( when can you usually tell?

My Wyandottes were six weeks old before there was even a hint about which sex they were. The first thing I noticed was the males were becoming more vivid in their feather coloring. Of course, I didn't know at the time they were cockerels. I just thought they were prettier. It was much later that those "pretty" ones turned out to be roos.

Chick B C & F all seem to be "prettier" and have more red on their combs. That's why I was wondering if you could tell earlier :/ I am horrible at this waiting game...
