I have older sexlink hens that are 4-5 years old and are crossed between leghorn and a Rhode Island Red. Up until this year I have always collected brown eggs. This spring a couple have started laying white eggs? Must be converting back to the leghorn side? Has anyone else experienced this?

Don't have leghorns but that is very interesting! I can't wait to hear what others have to say.

Brown eggs are white eggs with, for lack of better phrasing, brown spray paint on the outside. It is normal for the amount of pigment to fade as a hen ages and even from the beginning to end of a single laying cycle. Given the age of your birds it is possible they experiencing dysfunction in the pigment department.
